How is the procedure performed?
The procedure for removing a tooth or root from the maxillary sinus is performed by an experienced oral surgeon under aseptic conditions and local anesthesia. If necessary, sedation is also used. Before the procedure, we perform CBCT tomography to precisely determine the location of the tooth fragment. The surgeon gains access to the sinus, most often using an open method (e.g., through osteoplastic window creation), removes the foreign body, and thoroughly cleans the sinus interior. If necessary, the sinus is also closed and an oro-antral communication repair is performed.
