How does a healing screw work?
After the osseointegration process (i.e. the permanent connection of the implant with the bone) is completed, the implant is exposed, and then a healing screw is screwed in in place of the closing screw covering it. It protrudes gently above the gum surface and shapes it, creating a natural emergence profile that allows for aesthetic and functional placement of the crown.

Does it hurt to put on a healing screw?
The procedure is quick and carried out under local anesthesia, so the patient does not feel pain. The healing process usually takes 7 to 14 days, after which you can move on to the next stage – making and placing a prosthetic crown.
