Vertical overbite – treatment with Invisalign overlays
Vertical overbite is a malocclusion in which the upper teeth cover the lower teeth too much. In many cases, it can be treated with modern orthodontic trays. The Invisalign system makes it possible to precisely plan the movement of teeth and conduct treatment in a discreet, comfortable and case-specific manner.
Vertical overbite is one of the malocclusions also described in our guide: what malocclusions Invisalign treats. If you want to learn more about the overlay treatment itself, see the Invisalign Wroclaw page.
What might treatment of vertical overbite with overlays look like?
The following visualization shows how the alignment of teeth and the relationship between the arches can change during treatment. In practice, each treatment plan is prepared individually – taking into account the degree of defect, bite conditions and the desired effect.
In Invisalign treatment, tooth movement is planned digitally, including using ClinCheck. Overlays made of SmartTrack™ material support precise guidance of planned movements, but whether such a method would be suitable for vertical overbite is always determined by orthodontic consultation and diagnosis.
Can vertical overbite be treated with Invisalign?
In many cases, yes. However, the possibility of treatment depends on the severity of the defect, the alignment of the teeth and individual bite conditions. During an orthodontic consultation, we will assess whether overlay treatment will be a good option and show you what effect can realistically be planned.
