Crossbite – treatment with Invisalign overlays
Crossbite is a defect in which selected upper and lower teeth align incorrectly with each other. It can affect either individual teeth or a larger section of the arch, and affects both the aesthetics of the smile and the function of the bite. In many cases, it can be treated with modern orthodontic trays, such as Invisalign.

What might crossbite treatment with overlays look like?
The following visualization shows how the alignment of teeth and the relationship between the arches can gradually change during treatment. In practice, each treatment plan is prepared individually – taking into account the type of defect, the occlusal conditions and the effect we want to achieve.
In Invisalign treatment, tooth movement is planned digitally, including using ClinCheck. The overlays, made of SmartTrack™ material, support precise guidance of planned movements, but whether such a method will be suitable for crossbite is always determined by an orthodontic consultation and thorough diagnostics.
Can crossbite be treated with Invisalign?
In many cases, yes. However, the possibility of treatment depends on the severity of the defect, the alignment of the teeth and individual bite conditions. During an orthodontic consultation, we will assess whether overlay treatment will be a good option and show you what effect can realistically be planned.
