Description
In the case of very damaged tooth crowns – e.g. due to caries or mechanical trauma – the dentist must rebuild its side walls to be able to start root canal surgery at all. Such a temporary but durable reconstruction made of composite material allows the use of a rubber dam, i.e. special insulation, thanks to which the treatment area remains dry and free of saliva.
Why is the tooth casing before root canal treatment so important?
-
Protects the inside of the tooth against infection,
-
Ensures tightness and stability during treatment,
-
It allows for accurate preparation of canals under a microscope,
-
It minimizes the risk of fracturing weakened tooth walls.
At Stomo Clinic, each casing before the root canal is made with the utmost care – so that the treatment is effective, comfortable and long-lasting. This is the first step to save a tooth that could be doomed to extraction.
