What does the procedure look like?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The dental surgeon inserts bone substitute material or the patient’s own bone (taken from another area of the mouth) into the place of the cavity. Special membranes and fixing screws are often used to stabilize the graft and support the regeneration process. In the case of large deficiencies, augmentation can be carried out as a separate stage of treatment – before the planned implantation.

Regeneration after surgery
The healing time after augmentation is usually between 4 and 9 months, depending on the extent of the procedure and the materials used. After the healing process is completed, it is possible to proceed to the next stage – dental implantation.
