The last chance to save a tooth – precise endodontic microsurgery

Apicoectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of an infected fragment of the tooth root along with the surrounding inflamed tissue. It is performed when root canal treatment has not yielded the expected results, and the tooth still shows signs of infection.

Description

What does apicoectomy involve?

The procedure is performed by an oral surgeon under local anesthesia. After exposing the bone and root apex, the infected tissue and the root apex itself are removed. The area is then thoroughly cleaned and filled with a protective material. The procedure concludes with suturing and the initiation of the healing process.

In our clinic, the procedure is performed using a surgical microscope, which allows for exceptional precision and minimal intervention in healthy tissues.
